Hi Friends!
I wanted to change the world when I was young. As I grew up, I saw the world had too many problems with no real solutions. If you see the world only this way, the wondrous beauty of the human condition becomes a blurry background. Now that I’m older I understand that the opaqueness can fade away to nothing leaving only the problems if you’re not careful. I still want to change the world but now I know that all it takes is changing the world around you. Be the change you want to see. If we all put a little bit of good out there then change happens. Each little step brings the wonderful parts of humanity back in focus. We can see the elegance of humankind and strive for change.
Socii (pronounced sOh-sEE-EYE) is a Latin word that means partner or friend. I'm Noah and my partner and friend is Jenna. We are both critical care nurses and after our experience over the last few years some things that didn't seem important before are now in the forefront of our souls. Love, laughter, touch and time have revealed their astonishing wealth. Of course, they have always had this value but unfortunately, sometimes they are easy to take for granted. As we recover and the storm starts to dissipate, we have determined that we want to be the change in our life and maybe the change in world. Lofty goals no doubt, but worth the try.
We hope to entertain you with stories of breathtaking destinations and cultures in America and throughout the world. We want to inspire you to experience the enchantment of traveling and we are planning giveaways to overcome one of the biggest barriers to travel. If we are any good at entertaining and inspiring, we will effect change by using our knowledge and experience along with your support to travel to communities across the world that need their individual health attended to and their community health improved.
Our ultimate goal is to go beyond just our own abilities and facilitate other healthcare workers to partake. Medical missions are almost exclusively volunteer opportunities that require the participant to contribute financially in a small or sometimes big way. Raising thousands of dollars is a strong barrier of entry to this amazing and important experience. We want to change that by making Socii Travel a profitable venture that can, along with donations from the public, cover the expenses of many passionate healthcare workers on these missions. The patronage will provide awards for the volunteer so they only need to provide their time and expertise to those in need. This is our dream. Thank you for being a part of it
